From shadowed cleft I step– From hollow depths I crawl. Into light I glide oft sweetly– From the deep hallowed thrall.
For silted is my naked form– Bare is my airy skin. Ethereal now forevermore, For the ghosts are my kin.
From shadowed halls I step– Into the absence of light, Into the midnights holy ray, For I am one with the night.
Take my hand if you can– Reach through this dark shadow. Touch softly the air I am– Rest beneath the wisped willow.
From the echoes I claim you; From the darkness I touch you; From the storm I caress you; From the pale world I feel you.
I move with grace– unnatural. Transcending the mortal prep; For one thing propels me– As I from shadows clefted step.
It is the throbbing of the life, The effervescent pulse within– The heaving beating of the flesh, So far from the chill of my kin.
If you come not to me, Then I shall come to you– If you hide still quietly, In dreams I will glide to you.
